Certification & Credentials

A certificate is a formal document issued on behalf of Saint Peter’s College which verifies that a participant has achieved a specific award. A certificate is automatically issued to all individuals other than those on short courses only if you have obtained a final award, a certificate cannot be released if you do not have a final award.

All certificates issued by Saint Peter’s College are QR-coded from 1st January 2022 which can be verified immediately by scanning on a mobile device.

I’m a sole trader. Do I still need Food Hygiene Training?
Regardless of the size of your business, if you handle or prepare food that is consumed by others then you need to comply with the Food Hygiene Legislation.
What training do I need to provide for my employees?
The Law requires that any food handlers are instructed and supervised to a level which is appropriate for their duties. A supervisor will need a higher level of training than the staff they manage for example. Although the law does stipulate that formal training is required, a certificate showing your employees and supervisors has passed a recognised course is one way of showing you have complied with the law. I did a food hygiene course 4 years ago. Do I need to do another?
Yes. It’s recommended that you keep up to date every three years to maintain food safety standards and to ensure awareness of current legal requirements.
Do the courses have an exam that needs to be passed?
Yes, it is a multiple choice exam and all the information needed to pass the exam is explained during the course.
How do I download a free digital Certificate or Diploma??
If you have completed a course that offers free Certification, your Digital Certificate/Digital Diploma and Transcript are available to download from the Dashboard of your Saint Peter's College Account.
How can I validate/verify my completed courses?
When you purchase your Certificate/Diploma, it will include a QR Code. This code can be scanned using any QR Code scanner app on your smartphone/tablet. Once scanned, it redirects to Saint Peter's College, where your course completion can be verified. Saint Peter's College transcript includes the link, where your course completion can be verified directly on Saint Peter's College website.
How does certification work?
How do I earn a certificate? To fully complete a course, you must study all sections of the course (achieve 100% progress and a green tick beside each section) and score at least 80% in each assessment. Once satisfactorily complete, your certificate will be available to download by redeeming a voucher code which can be purchased from the offers and bundles section of the website.
How much does the certification cost?

Is the certificate from Saint Peter's College or from the Publisher?
